The Things That Bug Us (Catharsis)

A semi-triptic series of posters, aimed at presenting words, thoughts or opinions that keep us down as insects, or parasites. This was as a direct connection to the use of the word “bug” in terms of it dual meaning, being the physical creature, and the literal equivalent where something may “bug” us. I wanted to explore the transformative nature of certain insects, how they metamorphasise from maliscious creatures to something more beautiful, for example, a dragon fly nymph, to a fully grown dragon fly. The project was intended to visualise how this metamorphis can correlate with our personal “bugs” where some form of bad or negative aspect that we carry with us, can turn in to something beautiful through different cathartic processes.
